• American Idol Underground is offering artists a unique
opportunity to showcase their music using the now familiar American Idol system.
Listeners are encouraged to log on to the site and vote for music from around the world. Then a
panel of celebrities will judge the most popular artists, with winners receiving a shot at
performance showcases, additional airtime and other valuable prizes to help them in the music
industry.
Artists, including bands and solo performers, can compete for prizes in rock, rap, R&B, pop,
jazz, country, world, electronica, spoken-word, comedy, classical, folk and faith-based. AIU has
recruited more than 50 celebrity judges who, along with the audience community, will determine the
best artists. Included on the celebrity judge roster are: Isaac Hayes, David Benoit, Kid
Capri, Verdine White (Earth Wind & Fire), Sir Mix-A-Lot and Collin Raye.
Artists can upload their music on the website for $50 and choose one of 13 genre-specific music
channels. Each song entry is guaranteed 200 spins on the online music player. A step-by-step guide

• Big-FM, the No. 1 CHR radio network in Europe is seeking unsigned artists. Eleanor
Academia, (aka The Black Swan) wants to present the hottest new music from unsigned
artists, bands and singer/songwriters to a new market. Unsigned artists in the U.S. face a difficult
challenge when they try to get their music played on big commercial radio stations. Well, with her
partnership at Big-FM, Academia is dedicated to giving those same artists direct access to millions
of new fans. Her show, The L.A. Music Pipeline, airs alongside Big-FM’s top DJs, and
reaches millions of listeners who are avid music fans.
